Abstract
|

|
A case of hemangiopericytoma occurring in a 26 years old Korean male in the soft tissue of lower extremity was reported.
He had noticed `a slowly growing mass in the right popliteal area beginning about 3 months before admission. Oppressing sensasation was often accompanied with radiating pain in right calf muscle. The mass was located in subcutis and was easily removed. The resected tumor mass measured. 1.5 x 2.0. x 1.5. cm It was well circumscribed and firm in consistency. The cut surface was gray white with central necrotic focus. Microscopically the tumor was cellular, showing the tic histological features of hemangiopericytonna. The- tumor cells were arranged as confluent mantles around the vascular spaces. The reticulin stains outlined the sheaths of the vessels and demonstrated a fine reticulin Iymg between the cells.
After the tumor was ressected he is perfectly well until now.
